R160 000 raised!

Thanks to your generous donations toward the Run for Rosa Fund, we were able to raise just over R160 000. These funds will go toward sending a deserving child to King's School.

The King's School board, scholars, Stu and our entire family are incredibly grateful for your participation and we look forward to having you on this journey with us as we change the future of a young learner.

You can follow updates from the Run for Rosa team on Facebook or drop a line to if you've got any ideas or questions.

The Challenge

Our family lost a very special person in our lives named Rosa Jane Carlyle-Mitchell

She was a beloved cousin, sister, daughter and niece who died in an accident on her 21st birthday in Cape Town.

Her positive and forever-giving nature gave her cousin, Stuart Rayner, the drive to create the Run for Rosa initiative.

The Run for Rosa will see Stuart running 10 marathons in 13 days in honour of her - from Plettenberg Bay to Cape Town. He starts on 16 July 2017 (his birthday) and finishes on the 28 July 2017 (what would have been Rosa’s 25th birthday) at the Kimberley Hotel, where she passed away.

Through this run, Stu hopes to offer an opportunity to send an underprivileged child to Kings School from grade 3 to 7. King’s School in Nottingham Road, KwaZulu-Natal, has been run by the Carlyle-Mitchell family for three generations.
